Biography
After graduating from Durham University in 1986, where she read Anthropology, Lucy qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse, specialising in insolvent businesses. She went on to a successful career in the investment management industry with Mercury Asset Management, Gartmore and UBS Warburg.
After 17 years in business and finance, Lucy studied for a Masters Degree in Employment Law by evening class at Kingston University. She was awarded the Howell-Jones prize for graduating with the highest overall mark in her year. She now runs her own business, Workplace Law, advising local employees. She represents individuals at Tribunal and negotiates on their behalf with their employers; half her casework is pro bono.
Lucy is a community campaigner and an ardent advocate of neighbourhood politics. She is a governor of Riversdale School, a member of the Wandsworth Town Centre Partnership, chairman of Wandsworth's Pupil Referral Advisory Board, coordinator of a local working mothers' group, treasurer of Rokeby Parents' Committee and a local charity fund raiser.
Lucy is a Wandsworth Councillor and serves as a deputy chairman of the Children & Young People's Services Committee, a member of the Environment & Leisure Committee, and a member the Community Safety & Regeneration Committee.
Lucy and her husband Robin, a City analyst, have lived in Wandsworth for twenty years. They have a son Bart who goes to school locally. As a family they enjoy community rugby, cycling and they all get involved in local political activities.
